Kingdom Chief Award

Lisa was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, and is a proud graduate of the Providence Public Schools. She continued her education at the Community College of Rhode Island, Salve Regina University, and College Unbound. Lisa also completed the Institute for Nonprofit Practice Core Program at Tufts University and is a Certified Homicide Specialist through the National Advocate Credentialing Program.

Having experienced the devastating impact of violence firsthand, Lisa has dedicated her life's work to helping individuals, families, and communities heal, prevent violence, and create safer futures.

For nearly 30 years, Lisa has served the Providence community, including more than 15 years in community violence intervention with the Nonviolence Institute, where she now serves as Executive Director. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside victims of violent crime, survivors, families, community leaders, law enforcement, and service providers to support healing, interrupt cycles of violence, and strengthen communities.

Lisa also serves on the City of Providence's Pathway to End Gun Violence Advisory Council and the Providence Police Community Advisory Board, where she continues to advocate for safer, healthier communities through collaboration, prevention, and the principles and practices of nonviolence.
