Carolyn leads the BCBSRI’s social responsibility strategy across community investment, employee engagement, belonging and inclusion, and health equity. Her work connects BCBSRI’s philanthropic resources, volunteerism, partnerships, and business assets to improve health and well-being across Rhode Island.
Over nearly 25 years with the company, she has played a leading role in transforming BCBSRI's approach to corporate citizenship into a nationally recognized model for community impact. Carolyn oversees signature initiatives that drive measurable impact, including the BlueAngel Community Health Grant program, Blue Across Rhode Island, and the RI Life Index, developed in partnership with Brown University School of Public Health to elevate Rhode Islander voice in strategy and investment. She has also championed collaborations such as #RecessRocksinRI, which has supported safe and inclusive play for more than 45,000 elementary school students statewide.
A respected leader in Rhode Island’s nonprofit and philanthropic community, Carolyn serves on the boards of United Way of Rhode Island and the Grantmakers’ Council of Rhode Island and is a member of Rhode Island Housing’s Continuum of Care. She currently chairs United Way's Community Impact Committee and has held additional leadership roles with the American Heart Association and other community organizations.
